The village of Alagna, Italy

Today we went to another small mountain village on the Italian side of the Matterhorn.

We had a snack in this little café.

These are old gravestones dating back to 1526, getting newer as you go to the right.

Chamonix, France

As we are nearing the end of our trip, we went to Chamonix, France, the home of Mount Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe at 15,780 feet.
We have seen a few castles on hilltops during this trip.

And many vineyards

We saw some trees beginning to show their Fall colors.

We were near where Switzerland, France and Italy meet.

A Chamonix street

This was taken on the Italian side of the Matterhorn, but we couldn't see it from where we were.

And as Susie and now Kirah say of sunsets, "God's hand."

To the Matterhorn

Today we drove through beautiful mountains and ended up with views of the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland.

We saw a lot of wood construction.

This was our first view of the Matterhorn.  Which of the following do you like best?

One of the interesting houses when we were on our way back.

You can't actually drive to Zermatt, but have to ride this train.
